GUS & FAY jewelry
Hello, I’m Heather Colmar and I’m the designer of Gus and Fay Jewelry. It all started many many years ago as a young girl living in Orange County, California. I sold my first piece of jewelry at the age of five to a very fashion forward little neighborhood girl. She was the kind of girl who wore hyper colored shirts even before the 7th graders. The hot pink and neon yellow friendship bracelet I sold her became the talk of the neighborhood. Soon every little girl within a four block radius had to have one, and thus began my love of creating jewelry. I continued to make and sell jewelry, for myself and friends throughout my teen years never thinking it could be a career. In college I tried my hand at several different majors until I finally finished with a degree in Metals and Jewelry at The Savannah College of Art and Design. Though learning the trade was not easy, I loved every minute of it knowing that I was fulfilling my passion. I still can’t think of anything else I would rather be doing.

Jewelry is more that just a hobby or career for me. It is my artistic expression, the way I tell a story. Some artists paint or sculpt, but jewelry is an art form that is worn on the body for everyone to see. It’s a way for the wearer to express themselves and communicate to others who they are without saying a word, and I am honored that I can be a part of that expression. I can’t think of a more personal or public way to express my art.

My hope is that in viewing the jewelry you will appreciate my personal expression as well as find a piece that helps express who you are.

Thank you for visiting.
